Corporate Social Responsibility campaign: Household e-waste recycle campaign

$$$ TRASH TO CASH $$$ As an effort to promote corporate social responsibility, the organisation organised a campaign for employees to voluntarily bring household e-waste for recycling. In return, the contributing employee will get a cash rebate depending on the items collected. What is household e-waste? Electrical and electronic appliance which are not in use by the original user and does not bring any value to the user. Eg. PC, TV, radio, refrigerator, washing machine, air-conditioner, printer, mobile phone, DVD/VCD player, mobile phone battery & etc, Why do we need to recycle household e-waste? It gives an adverse impact on human health and the environment. For instance, Electroplating process involved in computer circuit manufacturing uses several types of heavy metals; Computer chip production involves the usage of chemicals such as organic & inorganic acids and solvents. e-wastes are ignitable, corrosive, reactive & toxic! New Schedule Waste Store We are very pleased to announce that the organisation has built a new Schedule Waste Store for the safe storage and handling of Schedule Wastes in the company! The SW store has a 30 square meter area, with health and safety facilities such as Personal Protective Equipments, eye wash, fire extinguisher, for worker safety handling of wastes. We are achieved another step to achieving Environmental Compliance!

TREE REPLANTING CAMPAIGN 2019 As part of CSR, the organisation todate, has re-planted trees on 3 acres of land neighbouring to the factory facility. Sixty years ago, Alma area is mainly rice paddy fields, small farmers and full of coconut trees. With the economy progression, more and more agriculture lands have been converted to commercial and residential projects. Despite many housing developers have offered to buy the land belonging to the organisation, our CEOs have turned down all offers and instead we replanted trees surrounding the production facilities. Trees contribute to the environment over long periods of time by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife. During the process of photosynthesis, trees take in carbon dioxide and produce the oxygen we breathe.

An effort for a more sustainable energy source

For a more sustainable energy source, the organisation has invested in biomass boiler to replace conventional diesel boiler. The biomass boiler burn biomass waste such as wood chips off cuts, palm oil husk and at the same time reducing carbon emissions.
